Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor tasks including digging, grading, patching, and paving roads and sidewalks.
- Assist in the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of public parks, right-of-ways, and drainage areas.
- Operate and maintain light and heavy construction equipment, including dump trucks, rollers, and jackhammers under supervision.
- Assist with traffic control, flagging operations, and the setup of construction zones.
- Load, unload, and stack construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related events (snow removal, flood control).
- Adhere strictly to all OSHA safety regulations and site-specific safety plans.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Valid Hawaii Driver's License is required.
- Physical ability to perform strenuous outdoor labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand basic blueprints and work orders.
- Must be willing to work early morning shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Certification in traffic flagging or possession of a CDL is a significant plus.
