Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including road paving, drainage systems, and utility installations
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, graders, compactors) with precision and safety protocols
- Perform site preparation, grading, and material handling for public infrastructure projects
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of public facilities and transportation networks
- Adhere to OSHA standards and municipal safety regulations at all times
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement project specifications and timelines
- Document daily operations and project progress using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in heavy construction or public works labor
- Valid North Carolina Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Proficiency with GPS survey equipment and heavy machinery operation
- Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure systems and blueprints
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical examination
- Emergency response certification (e.g., First Aid/CPR) desirable
