Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews for various city departments.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain accurate personnel files and HRIS records in accordance with state and federal privacy laws.
- Conduct new employee orientations to ensure a smooth transition and understanding of city policies.
- Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping systems.
- Resolve employee relations inquiries and provide guidance on internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop workforce strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Human Resources, public administration, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of Oklahoma state labor laws and federal employment regulations.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
