Responsibilities
- Process and review pension benefit calculations for eligible retirees and beneficiaries.
- Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance of employee retirement records in state systems.
- Interpret and apply state and federal pension laws, ERISA regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees, answering inquiries regarding eligibility,vesting, and payouts.
- Conduct audits and reconciliation of pension fund accounts to ensure fiscal integrity.
- Collaborate with the HR and Payroll departments to resolve discrepancies and update employee records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits administration, or government finance.
- Strong knowledge of retirement plans, ERISA regulations, and state government payroll systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
