Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the City's enterprise network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches, ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols, perform vulnerability assessments, and implement data protection measures to safeguard sensitive citizen data.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and design scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for internal staff and external agencies via help desk channels.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, system specifications, and operational manuals.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance monitoring to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies and software updates to keep our systems current.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in IT administration, systems analysis, or network engineering.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundation, or PMP is strongly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP), cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure), and relational database management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
- Valid Kentucky driver's license and a satisfactory background check are required.
