Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of the city's network infrastructure to ensure 99.9% operational uptime.
- Provide expert technical support and guidance to city employees regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Implement and monitor rigorous security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and integrate new IT solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventative maintenance to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
- Document technical processes and create user manuals to facilitate knowledge sharing across the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and extensive work experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in IT support, network administration, or a related role within the public sector or large enterprise.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cybersecurity best practices, and cloud computing technologies.
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
