Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Leadership: Design, implement, and maintain complex server environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructure to ensure 99.999% system uptime and availability.
- Security Administration: Oversee network security protocols, firewall management, and identity access management (IAM) to protect sensitive government data from evolving cyber threats.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Provide advanced-level support and resolution for hardware and software systems across multiple departments, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
- Project Management: Lead cross-functional initiatives to upgrade legacy systems, integrate cutting-edge technologies, and modernize the agency's digital footprint.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure strict adherence to federal and state compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, with a proven track record in managing large-scale environments.
- Certifications: Active certifications such as CCNP, AWS Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Security+ are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or Bash) and database management systems (SQL). Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server administration.
- Residency: Preference may be given to candidates currently residing within the City and County of San Francisco.
