Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and maintain the city's core Windows Server and Active Directory environments to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and enforce strict security protocols and compliance standards (NIST, ISO) to safeguard sensitive citizen data.
- Design and deploy scalable network solutions, including firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Lead technical troubleshooting for complex server issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents rapidly.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning for future growth.
- Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior system administrators and technical staff.
- Document all technical processes, configurations, and incident reports for compliance and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and networking infrastructure.
- Certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, or CISSP are strongly preferred.
- Experience working in a government or large enterprise environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Washington State Driver's License may be required for on-site deployment support.
