The Opportunity:
We are looking for an individual dedicated to federal service who possesses deep expertise in cybersecurity principles. You will be responsible for identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security controls, and responding to incidents to protect our agency's digital infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.
Responsibilities
- Conduct Security Assessments: Perform regular risk assessments and audits of IT systems to ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, FISMA).
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security incidents, including malware analysis and intrusion detection.
- Certification Management: Manage and maintain security certifications for hardware and software, ensuring all systems are properly authorized and secured.
- Policy Implementation: Develop, review, and update cybersecurity policies and procedures to align with changing regulatory requirements.
- Technical Support: Provide expert technical guidance to system administrators and developers on security best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen to apply for federal employment.
- Certifications: Active Security+ certification or higher (CISSP, CISM preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in information technology, specifically in cybersecurity or network security.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical reports and briefings.
