Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide technical support and ensure the integrity of federal information systems. You will work closely with agency leadership to implement security protocols and resolve complex technical issues affecting VA operations.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex IT systems and networks for federal applications.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive government data and prevent cyber threats.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline IT processes and improve system efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to ensure compliance with federal standards.
- Train junior staff and stakeholders on the effective use of new technologies and security best practices.
- Document all technical procedures, system changes, and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain one is highly preferred.
- Proven experience with federal IT systems, network security, and database management.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks and government compliance regulations (e.g., FISMA).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for technical reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
