Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain secure network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, operating systems, and proprietary government software.
- Conduct regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with state and federal cybersecurity standards.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders to identify technical requirements and implement scalable IT solutions.
- Manage data backups, disaster recovery protocols, and system patching schedules.
- Train government staff on new technology tools and security best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proven experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or PMP is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, data protection laws, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating technical jargon to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
