Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-level security solutions to protect the City’s network infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Monitor network traffic and security systems to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents in real-time.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential weaknesses.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff and help desk personnel.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for City employees.
- Collaborate with federal and state agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as HIPAA and NIST.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network security, firewall management, or information assurance.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (if applicable).
