Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the agency's information security infrastructure, ensuring compliance with federal standards such as FISMA and NIST.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to identify potential security weaknesses in systems and networks.
- Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and guidelines to safeguard sensitive government data.
- Monitor system activity for suspicious behavior and respond to security incidents in accordance with established protocols.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff and stakeholders on cybersecurity awareness and best practices.
- Prepare detailed reports on security posture, incident logs, and compliance status for senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Active Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security, network administration, or a related IT field.
- Familiarity with federal information security frameworks, including FISMA, DIACAP, or FedRAMP.
- Proficiency in using security tools such as SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
