Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and administer information security programs and practices to protect agency systems.
- Monitor system activity and conduct vulnerability assessments to identify potential security breaches.
- Ensure full compliance with federal information security standards, including FISMA and NIST guidelines.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans to mitigate cyber threats effectively.
- Provide technical guidance and training to staff regarding security protocols and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews of security configurations to maintain compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in information security, network administration, or IT infrastructure.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and security architectures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting security procedures.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
