Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain NIST-compliant cybersecurity frameworks across federal systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified networks
- Develop incident response plans and lead security breach mitigation efforts
- Manage identity access controls and authentication systems (e.g., PIV cards, CAC)
- Coordinate with federal agencies to share threat intelligence and best practices
- Ensure compliance with FISMA, FedRAMP, and DHS security directives
- Mentor junior staff on security protocols and emerging threats
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with federal systems
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ certification
- Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DHS security clearance
- Strong documentation skills for security policies and procedures
