Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain NIST-compliant security controls across VA networks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on VA systems
- Monitor SIEM alerts and respond to security incidents within 15-minute SLA
- Develop security policies and procedures for HIPAA/GDPR compliance
- Lead incident response coordination during security breaches
- Train staff on security best practices and phishing awareness
- Collaborate with CISO on zero-trust architecture implementation
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain within 30 days
- CompTIA Security+ CE or CISSP certification required
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal IT security
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure security tools and AWS security services
- Strong knowledge of FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMP standards
- Experience with Splunk, CrowdStrike, or similar security platforms
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
