Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive cybersecurity architecture to protect federal information systems.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security weaknesses.
- Monitor network traffic and security systems for suspicious activity; lead incident response and recovery efforts.
- Develop and deliver security awareness training for agency staff to foster a culture of security.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, including NIST 800-53 and FISMA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security best practices into the software development lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Manage security configurations for servers, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active Top Secret security clearance required.
- Possession of at least one professional cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+).
- Minimum of 5 years of specialized experience in network security engineering and risk management.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automated security tasks.
- Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
