Responsibilities
- Design and implement cybersecurity protocols to protect VA IT infrastructure
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Manage incident response for security breaches
- Develop and maintain security documentation and policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT modernization projects
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards (FISMA, NIST)
- Provide technical guidance to junior IT staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience in federal/government sector
- Active Security+ CE certification or equivalent
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight)
- Knowledge of FedRAMP compliance requirements
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
