Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols across VA's Pacific Northwest network infrastructure
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security gaps
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Manage security information and event management (SIEM) systems
- Provide technical guidance to IT teams on security best practices
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and federal cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with federal partners on threat intelligence sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of cybersecurity experience in federal or regulated environments
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (CISSP preferred)
- Proficiency in network security tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
