Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect VA networks and systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across federal IT environments
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and other federal cybersecurity standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security posture
- Maintain documentation of security policies, procedures, and audit findings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity or IT security roles
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Understanding of federal IT security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
