Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols for VA systems in compliance with federal standards
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems for threat detection
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation activities
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and policy compliance
- Manage identity and access control systems for federal networks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of cybersecurity experience in federal/government environments
- Active Security+ CE certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency with NIST frameworks (SP 800-53, SP 800-171)
- Experience with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of FISMA compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
