Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity solutions to protect VA networks and systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security gaps
- Develop incident response plans and coordinate breach mitigation efforts
- Ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into IT infrastructure
- Monitor security alerts and analyze cyber threat intelligence
- Provide cybersecurity training and guidance to staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of cybersecurity experience with federal IT systems
- Security+ certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar)
- Knowledge of NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and network protocols
- Active Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
