Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of NIST cybersecurity frameworks across VA systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for network infrastructure
- Develop incident response protocols and coordinate breach mitigation efforts
- Manage identity and access control systems for 500+ federal users
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on zero-trust architecture deployments
- Provide technical guidance on FISMA compliance requirements
- Monitor security metrics and generate executive-level compliance reports
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and federal security clearance eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience with federal systems
- CompTIA Security+ and CISSP certifications required
- Expertise in network security tools (Splunk, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto)
- Knowledge of FedRAMP and NIST SP 800-53 standards
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and hybrid environments
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to leadership
