Responsibilities
- Manage and secure IT systems including servers, networks, and databases
- Implement cybersecurity protocols and conduct vulnerability assessments
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users
- Oversee system upgrades and infrastructure projects
- Ensure compliance with federal IT policies (NIST, FISMA)
- Document IT processes and maintain operational manuals
- Collaborate with VA leadership on IT strategic initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 1+ years specialized experience at GS-11 level or equivalent
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, and cloud platforms
- Certification in CompTIA Security+ or CISSP preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of federal IT regulations
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a mission-critical environment
