Responsibilities
- Manage Network Infrastructure: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the state's wide area network (WAN) and local area network (LAN) systems.
- Cybersecurity Protocols: Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive government data and systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support to internal staff, diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects from conception through deployment, ensuring they meet state deadlines and budget constraints.
- System Upgrades: Evaluate emerging technologies and upgrade legacy systems to improve operational efficiency and user experience.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all IT activities comply with federal and state regulations, maintaining accurate technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certifications are strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, virtualization technologies (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and develop effective solutions under pressure.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation as part of the hiring process.
