Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network systems that ensure the security and reliability of our agency's data and communications.
Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network connectivity and hardware issues to ensure 99.9% uptime for federal systems.
- Design and configure secure network architectures in compliance with FISMA and agency security policies.
- Perform regular system audits and vulnerability assessments to maintain compliance with federal standards.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior staff and end-users across multiple departments.
- Manage network documentation, including diagrams and configuration records, to facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for network infrastructure upgrades and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent technical experience).
- Experience: At least 3 years of specialized experience in network engineering, systems administration, or IT support.
- Certifications: Active Secret Clearance (preferred) or Top Secret; CompTIA Security+ or Cisco CCNA is required.
- Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and firewall management.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with senior leadership and technical teams.
