Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor network traffic and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
- Implement and manage network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive federal data.
- Configure and administer network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise applications and cloud services.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and changes in compliance with federal standards.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required for this federal position.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+ or higher is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Skills: Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and various routing protocols.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting technical issues to stakeholders.
