Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure software applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
- Conduct rigorous testing, debugging, and optimization of code for performance and security
- Document technical specifications and provide guidance to junior developers
- Ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, FISMA) and VA regulations
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and sprint planning
- Integrate third-party systems and legacy databases into modern solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with Java/J2EE
- Active federal security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with federal IT compliance frameworks and security protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a regulated environment
