Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network infrastructure within the Virginia Beach government network.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure network configurations to protect sensitive citizen data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade and modernize legacy systems.
- Document technical procedures, configurations, and incident reports for knowledge base management.
- Conduct system performance monitoring and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software solutions across various state agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Valid certification such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in network administration, system administration, or IT technical support.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Virginia state government security clearance.
