Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and administration of servers, virtualization environments, and network infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols to protect state data assets from cyber threats.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable IT solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize resource allocation.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee software licensing and compliance.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate system configurations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration or Network Engineering within a large-scale enterprise or government environment.
- Proven expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security standards (NIST, ISO).
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS) is highly desirable.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and meet residency requirements for state employment.
