Position Overview:
As an IT Support Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring minimal downtime for our operations. You will troubleshoot hardware and software problems, manage user accounts, and maintain a secure and efficient IT environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 Technical Support: Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues for state employees via phone, email, and remote tools.
- System Administration: Manage Active Directory user accounts, permissions, and security policies to ensure data integrity.
- Hardware Maintenance: Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices.
- Help Desk Management: Monitor and respond to help desk tickets within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Software Deployment: Assist in the deployment and updates of operating systems and essential business applications.
- Network Support: Perform basic network troubleshooting, connectivity checks, and cable management.
Qualifications
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent military experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional IT support or help desk experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office 365 suite.
- Networking: Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, and Active Directory concepts.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification is a plus but not required.
