We are currently hiring an IT Systems Administrator in Jacksonville, FL. This is an Immediate Hire position offering competitive benefits, job stability, and the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects.
As part of the Department of Transportation, you will play a vital role in maintaining our technology systems that keep the state moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and peripheral devices for state employees.
- Monitor network performance to ensure data integrity, security, and minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new IT solutions and software updates.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate system configurations.
- Provide Tier 2 technical support to internal staff regarding hardware and software issues.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support or system administration.
- Experience working within a government or large enterprise environment is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL databases.
- Familiarity with state government IT compliance standards and security protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
