Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail efficiently and accurately.
- Deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses along established routes.
- Interact professionally with customers to answer inquiries and resolve delivery issues.
- Perform physical tasks including lifting parcels up to 70 lbs and walking long distances in all weather conditions.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and provide tracking information when requested.
- Ensure the security and safety of the mail being handled during transit and processing.
- Operate postal vehicles and adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Valid Driver’s License (for City Carrier Assistant positions).
- Ability to lift, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have permanent legal status.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
