Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently and accurately using automated sorting equipment and manual methods.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and railroad cars, ensuring cargo is secured and handled with care.
- Operate various mail handling machinery, including canceling machines, canceling machines, and conveyor systems, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the work area to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Adhere to all USPS safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production quotas and service standards.
- Assist in the preparation of mail for delivery to local post offices and distribution centers.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Must possess a valid Driverβs License.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages weighing up to 70 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to read and understand written instructions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
