Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks: Safely handle mail and packages weighing up to 70 lbs using hand trucks and dollies.
- Sort and process mail: Organize incoming and outgoing mail using sorting equipment and manual methods to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain facility safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while working in high-volume sorting facilities.
- Customer service: Resolve inquiries regarding delayed or missing mail when interacting with the public or stakeholders.
- Operate machinery: Use letter sorting machines (LSM) and automated systems efficiently to increase processing speed.
- Route delivery: Follow established routes to ensure timely delivery to residential and business addresses.
- Vehicle maintenance: Perform basic inspections of vehicles and ensure they are clean and operational.
Qualifications
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 70 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods; good manual dexterity.
- Driving: Valid driver's license is required for Carrier positions (Mail Handler position focuses on facility work).
- Background: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is preferred.
- Availability: Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
