Responsibilities
- Deliver Mail & Packages: Sort and deliver mail and packages to residential and business customers along an assigned route in a timely manner.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service and handle any customer inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Route Management: Navigate assigned routes efficiently, utilizing GPS and physical stamina to ensure timely delivery.
- Vehicle Operation: Drive a mail delivery vehicle (either an all-electric truck or a rural route vehicle) to transport mail between the Post Office and delivery points.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, traffic laws, and USPS policies while on the road and on foot.
- Mail Handling: Properly handle, process, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail to ensure accuracy and security.
Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Legal Status: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent legal status to work in the U.S.
- Driver's License: Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to lift packages weighing up to 70 pounds and stand/walk for long periods (up to 8 hours).
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred, but not always mandatory.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
