Responsibilities
- Sort and process incoming and outgoing mail and packages efficiently and accurately.
- Operate mail processing machinery, such as canceling machines, optical character readers, and automated sorting equipment.
- Lift, carry, and load packages and mail containers weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Sort mail by ZIP code, size, and shape into the correct bins for delivery routes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with USPS safety regulations.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and quality standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the preparation of mail for delivery to the post office boxes and mail trucks.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Ability to obtain a valid Driver’s License (for City Carrier positions).
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical examination.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow complex instructions.
- Reliable attendance and a positive work ethic are required.
