Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain municipal infrastructure including roads, bridges, and public facilities
- Operate specialized equipment and heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Coordinate emergency response during severe weather events
- Document maintenance activities using digital reporting systems
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Train junior staff on proper equipment usage and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Valid Indiana Class B Commercial Driver's License
- Minimum 3 years infrastructure maintenance experience
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (e.g., backhoe, forklift)
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of GIS mapping systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Indiana residency required within 90 days of hire
