Responsibilities
- Perform heavy lifting, digging, and construction tasks for infrastructure projects
- Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, excavators, and street sweepers
- Maintain public spaces including parks, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Assist in emergency response during hurricanes and other natural disasters
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal facilities and equipment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or public works
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States
