Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair tasks on city streets, sidewalks, and park facilities.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery, including dump trucks, skid steers, and snowplows.
- Assist in snow removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Monitor and maintain traffic control devices, signage, and street lighting.
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure to identify potential hazards or repair needs.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments and contractors on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, and city policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in public works, landscaping, or general maintenance preferred.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory for all roles.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Must possess a valid Minnesota Driver's License.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and construction equipment is highly desirable.
