Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on municipal roads, drainage systems, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, excavators, and dump trucks safely
- Conduct field inspections to identify infrastructure needs and hazards
- Assist in emergency response during severe weather events
- Prepare detailed work reports and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and city safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) mandatory
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficient with basic hand tools and power equipment
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
