Responsibilities
- Perform daily maintenance of city streets, sidewalks, and public parks
- Operate heavy machinery including loaders, dump trucks, and street sweepers
- Assist in snow removal operations during winter months
- Conduct routine inspections of municipal infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Respond to emergency public works requests as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver's License (Class B) preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or public works
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of Boston municipal infrastructure systems
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
