Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on public facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including street sweepers, snow removal equipment, and utility vehicles
- Conduct safety inspections and document maintenance activities in compliance with municipal regulations
- Respond to emergency service requests within specified timeframes
- Collaborate with engineering teams for infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance schedules
- Participate in community outreach initiatives for public education programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years experience in municipal maintenance or public works
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification within 90 days of hire
- Ability to operate heavy machinery and power tools safely
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds
- Pass background check and drug screening as required
