Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and sweeping of public streets, sidewalks, and right-of-way areas to ensure a high standard of cleanliness.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations, including salting and plowing, during adverse weather conditions.
- Inspect public infrastructure for safety hazards and perform minor repairs or report needed maintenance.
- Maintain and perform basic upkeep on city vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Respond to public inquiries regarding city services and provide accurate information or direct them to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, OSHA guidelines, and departmental policies while on the job.
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong commitment to public service and community integrity.
