Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of municipal vehicles, heavy equipment, and park facilities.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety on city streets.
- Respond to and resolve emergency maintenance calls and public service requests promptly.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring proper inventory levels and safety standards are met.
- Assist with landscaping, trash collection support, and general cleaning of public areas.
- Collaborate with other city departments and contractors to complete large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while performing duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in mechanics or construction is a plus.
- Valid Washington State Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects weighing up to 50+ pounds frequently.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as general mechanical systems.
- Willingness to work in all weather conditions, including rain, snow, and heat.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Pass a background check and pre-employment physical evaluation.
