Responsibilities
- Maintain public parks, playgrounds, and recreational facilities
- Perform street cleaning, snow removal, and seasonal landscape work
- Operate light machinery (e.g., mowers, trimmers, snow plows)
- Conduct safety inspections of public infrastructure
- Respond to citizen service requests within 24 hours
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city projects
- Complete daily maintenance logs and incident reports
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Massachusetts Class D driver's license
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Experience operating landscaping or maintenance equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of EPA pesticide application (if applicable)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Pass background check and physical fitness assessment
