Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city facilities, parks, and public spaces
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, mowers, and snow removal equipment
- Conduct inspections and repairs on traffic signals, streetlights, and signage
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow, storms, etc.) for public safety
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and safety compliance documentation
- Support special event setup and breakdown for city functions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical examination
