Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate light machinery including mowers, trimmers, and snow removal equipment
- Conduct safety inspections and report infrastructure issues
- Assist with emergency response during severe weather events
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on city improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Michigan driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in maintenance or landscaping
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment troubleshooting
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- OSHA 10 certification preferred (training provided if needed)
