Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city buildings, parks, and public facilities
- Operate light/heavy equipment for landscaping and construction projects
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during off-hours
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Participate in community outreach events related to public works
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Valid California Class C driver's license (Class B preferred)
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., forklift, backhoe) required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Clean background check and drug-free certification
