Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including sweepers, graders, and asphalt equipment
- Respond to emergency weather events (snow, wind, flooding) with 24/7 on-call rotation
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
- Participate in public outreach and community engagement initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or construction maintenance
- Valid Washington State Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation and safety protocols
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in all weather conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic proficiency with maintenance tracking software
